What do 10 nm and 15 nm stand for in VLSI?

nm=nano meter
                    So, 10nm means in digital elections perspective the distance between source and drain. If nm reduced then it will be power efficient, more speed and thermal efficient etc,. However day to day the technology has been improved means all about nm only. Right now 10nm evolution is going on in intel and 7nm is going on in some other semiconductor companies like qualcomm etc,.. actually there are working now.
